Harris Michigan town hall host reveals only pre-determined questions allowed

Maria Shriver, former California First Lady and journalist, has revealed that only “pre-determined questions” would be allowed for Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris, 60, at a town hall event in Michigan on Monday. A town hall event is a public meeting where people can ask questions and share their opinions.
Shriver, who is the wife of former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, revealed the fact and sparked criticism on social media, with many claiming the event was more of a scripted production than an authentic town hall.
“Are we going to be able to ask a question?” a woman attending the Oakland County event asked Shriver ahead of Harris taking the stage with former Republican congresswoman Liz Cheney, reported the New York Post.
“You’re not, unfortunately, we have some pre-determined questions,” Shriver replied.
“Hopefully I’ll be able to ask some of the questions that might be in your head,” she added.
The clip of Shriver’s reply to the woman quickly went viral on the social media, where several users slammed the response of Shriver and said that the event is like a Harris campaign “production” and not a genuine town hall in which the audience can ask questions that are not pre-determined.
“That’s not a town hall. That’s called a stage production. She’s incapable of off the cuff,” one user wrote on X.
“Kamala is a puppet with a script. This is why she won’t randomly take questions from reporters either,” wrote another user on X.
“Everything is scripted and nothing will change with Kamala Harris,” wrote Chad Gilmartin, former Donald Trump White House aide.
“HOLY SHIT! They’re not even hiding it anymore,” wrote Steven Cheung, Trump campaign spokesman.
